What’s in your pond?

...is a survey to find out more about amphibians in the garden ponds of Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

Garden ponds can be an oasis for wildlife, supporting a wide range of species that were once common in the English countryside. Frogs, toads and newts depend on ponds for their survival and it’s amazing how much life can be found in even a small garden pond. If you have access to a garden pond, why not take a closer look over the next few weeks or months and let us know what you find?

Garden pond owners are often the only people who have access to their ponds, so without your help it will be impossible to collect this valuable information.

Just click on one of the links on the left or below for your local area survey form to start recording what you find.
